Power Electronics Lab

The laboratory course provides instruction in general lab practices, measurement methods, and with the design and operation of several common circuits relevant to the field of power electronics. It also provides experience with common components such as motors, batteries, magnetic devices, and power semiconductors.
lectron devices, such as diode, BJT, SCR, DIAC, UJT, JFET etc., characteristics experiments can be carried out.Half wave rectifier, Full wave rectifier, Clipper, Clamper, Multi-vibrators, Oscillators and amplifier experiments are conducted. Logic gates, Half adder, Full adder, Flip-Flops, Counter experiments using digital trainer kits can also be perform

Electrical Measurement & Measuring Instrument Lab

Electrical measurements are the methods, devices and calculations used to measure electrical quantities. Measurement of electrical quantities may be done to measure electrical parameters of a system. Using transducers, physical properties such as temperature, pressure, flow, force, and many others can be converted into electrical signals, which can then be conveniently measured and recorded. High-precision laboratory measurements of electrical quantities are used in experiments to determine fundamental physical properties such as the charge of the electron or the speed of light, and in the definition of the units for electrical measurements, with precision in some cases on the order of a few parts per million. Less precise measurements are required every day in industrial practice. Electrical measurements are a branch of the science of metrology.

Electric drive & Control lab

Electrical Drives are nowadays commonly used in the paper industry in the field of reeling drives. Traditional field of application are high power controlled centrifuge drives (food industry), extruder drives in rubber and plastic industry. The above mentioned applications are characterized by need of controlled torque in addition to speed control. Technological requirements usually include both driving and braking i.e. motoring and generating torque capability of the drive, in certain cases with speed reversal.

Electric Machine-1

How to deal with the measuring instruments usually involved in electrical machines testing procedures such as voltmeters, ammeters, ohmmeters, watt-meters, power factor meters, torque and speed meters. And recognize and differentiate between the different types of electrical machine like : 1) Transformer Magnetic Circuits.2) Single-Phase Transformers.3) Separately-excited DC Generators. 4) D.C Motors.5) Synchronous Generators.6) Three-Phase Induction (Asynchronous) Motors.7) Synchronous motors.

Power system Laboratory

comprises of protection, simulation, high voltage and machine related experiments. Facilities are available for over current, under voltage, directional, differential and distance relays including different numerical relays, determination of the generalized constants A, B, C, D of a long transmission line etc.
